Yale and University of Colorado Boulder researchers recently launched the demo version interactive global species distribution map. You can type in the common or scientific name of a species and see its range around the world, or you can designate an area on the map and see a list of that area’s birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, or fresh water fish (North America only). It’s still in demo mode so will likely improve upon completion. But in the meantime, it’s a fun way to brush up on facts. Perhaps TWS Quiz Bowl participants have found a new tool to use while studying.
